Nina Eileen Davenport, age 91, formerly of Collinsville, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at her residence in Walnut Hill, Illinois.

She was born on August 27, 1932 to Edward Carter and Glafra (Swafford) Carter.

Later on she met and married the love of her life Paul E Davenport.

They were united in marriage on November 8, 1952 in Collinsville, Illinois.

They were married for 53 years.

Eileen was a beautician for 54 years and had her own business in Collinsville, Illinois.

She was a member of the 1st Assembly of God in Collinsville, Illinois.

Eileen is survived by her sons; Ron (Deb) Davenport of Dorchester, Illinois and Tim (Debbie) Davenport of Walnut Hill, Illinois, sister; Joyce Cary of Hardy, Arkansas, 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, siblings; Ruby Miller, Geraldine Davie, Edward Carter Jr., William Carter, Kathryn Medlin, Marvin Carter and Terry Carter.

A Celebration of Life will be held from the chapel of Herr Funeral Home at 11 am, Tuesday, August 6, 2024.   Family will receive friends from 10 am until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Following the Celebration of life, Mrs. Davenport will be laid to rest at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.
