Norma Jean Dean, nee Presley, 78, of Belleville, Ill., born Jan. 15, 1933, in Clinton, Ky., died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.



Mrs. Dean was very active with the YMCA in Belleville.



She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilson Leo Dean whom she married on Dec. 29, 1950; a son, Danny Gilson Dean; parents, Claude and Lorene, nee McMorries, Presley; and a brother, Edwin Presley.



Surviving are her two sons, Michael Dean of Maryville, Ill., and Edwin Dean of Collinsville, Ill.; grandson, William Dean of Collinsville, Ill., other grandchildren, Dwayne, Denise, Dianna, Samantha and Michael; numerous great-grandchildren; her sister, Evelyn Young of Belleville, Ill.; special friend, George Davis of Maryville, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, 2011, at the funeral home with Pastor Myles Holmes officiating. Burial will be at St. Johns Cemetery, Collinsville, Ill.
