Norman Dale O'Connor, 71, of O'Fallon, Ill., born March 10, 1941, in Washington, Ind., died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Cedar Ridge Health Care, Lebanon, Ill.

Norman was a former horse owner and went to Fairmont Race Track to watch the races. He loved watching both his son and grandson play soccer. He was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Veda M., nee Guadagano, O'Connor; and his parents, Edmund and Lina, nee Scraper, O'Connor.

He is survived by his son, Timothy (Nikki) O'Connor of Swansea, Ill.; three sisters, Janet Page of O'Fallon, Ill., Linda Lane of Lebanon, Ill., and Phyllis Jones of Maryville, Ill.; three brothers, Mark O'Connor of Omaha, Neb., Tom O'Connor of O'Fallon, Ill., and Mike O'Connor of Collinsville, Ill.; and a grandson, Kaeden O'Connor of Belleville, Ill.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill.

Funeral: A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill., with the Rev. Roger Wright officiating. Per family wishes, he was to be cremated.
