Obituary

Norman Henry Schaulat, 79, of Collinsville, Ill., born Aug. 10, 1931, died at 10 a.m. Monday, May 9, 2011, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in Clayton, Mo.



Mr. Schaulat was owner/operator of Schaulat Plumbing in Collinsville, Ill. He was a member of the "Norm Club." Norm served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He graduated from Collinsville High School in 1949, where he was an outstanding basketball player which earned his a scholarship to St. Louis University and he played there and earned his bachelor degree. He became a member of the IHSA Hall of Fame.



Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Christ H. and Anna, nee Malwitz, Schaulat; and two brothers, Arthur and Robert Schaulat.



Surviving are his wife, Betty, nee Poneleit, Schaulat of Collinsville, Ill., whom he married March 27, 1954; two sons, Dr. Michael (Dr. Theresa) Schaulat of O'Fallon, Ill., and Dr. Ronald (Laura) Schaulat of Oklahoma City, Okla.; three granddaughters, Audrey Elizabeth Schaulat, Elizabeth Jean Schaulat and Amanda (Sean) Hayden.

Visitation: Friends may call from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, May 12, 2011, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Collinsville, Ill.



Funeral: Funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, May 12, 2011, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Collinsville, Ill., with the Rev. William Engfehr officiating. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery in Collinsville, Ill
