TROY- Oneal E. Stricklin, 89, of Troy Ill., passed away on Friday, April 28, 2017 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.
Oneal was born March 28, 1928, in Henderson County, Tenn., to James L. and Annie Bell, nee Powers, Stricklin.
He was an extremely talented musician throughout his life. At the age of 16, he began traveling and playing on a radio program in Corinth, Miss. His travels took him to St. Louis, Mo., where he met and married Betty M. Beck on August 20, 1950, in St. Louis. She survives and resides in Troy.
He was a member at Christ the King Apostolic Church in O''Fallon, Ill.
For 43 years, Oneal was a devoted employee with Cee-Kay Supply in St. Louis.
Also surviving are their daughters, Dimetra J. (James P.) Ripley of Collinsville, Ill., and Sheila Y. (Gary) Swift of Troy, Ill.; four granddaughters, Rachel E. Ripley of Troy Ill., Abigail L. Ripley of Riverside, Ca., Carrie (Steven) Miller of Montgomery, Ill., and Chrishelle (Theodore) Woolery of Maryville, Ill.; ten great-grandchildren, Madelynn, Joshua, David, Mel, Louis, Wesley, Owen, Kai, Dreusha, Wren; and one sister, Geneva (Herman) Lewis of Columbia, TN.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Amos Stricklin, Clarice Pruett, Grady Stricklin, Farice Horn, Esme Strickland, Janetta Loftin.

VISITATION: A visitation for Oneal will be held on Monday, May 1, 2017 from 4:00 P.M.- 8:00 P.M. at Sunset Hill Funeral Home in Glen Carbon.
FUNERAL: A funeral will be held Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Reverend Stephen T. Willeford will officiate. Interment will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens in Glen Carbon.
