Obituary

Otis Brown, 86, of Granite City, Illinois passed away peacefully at home on February 22, 2024. He was born July 2nd 1937 in Indianola, Mississippi, a son of late Poe and Bertie Lou Brown. He married Annie Mildred Brown in Greenville, Mississippi. He retired from National Maintenance after 30+ years. He was a dedicated loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He enjoyed tinkering in his garage working on lawn mowers or anything he thought he could fix. He was always trying to help anyone and everyone around him. He never met a stranger, if he did they were great friends by the end of their conversation. He will be remembered by his family and friends for his ornery, mischievous sense of humor that always made you laugh. No one could ever get something over on him, if you did you were his next target.

He is survived by a son Ricky and Sherry Brown of Granite City, a daughter Freda Brown of Granite City: seven grand children Richie (Shanna) French, Lee Brown, Crissy (Josh) Schenck, Amber (John) Vasiloff, Matt (Bridget) Brown, Joshua Brown and Alissa Howard; sixteen great grandchildren Nicholas French, Keirsten (Braden) Shrum, Madison Vasiloff, Ethan Shrum, Mikala Brown, Austin French, Colton Schenck, Colton Brown, Mia Brown, Lucas French, Carter Brown, John Vasiloff, Mackenzie Brown, Jayde Schenck, Mylah Jo, and Corbin Brown; two great great grandchildren Iris and Wren. Many brothers, brother in laws, sisters and sister in laws, many nieces nephews and extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, several brothers, sisters and in laws.
