Patricia A. Wright

Patricia A. Wright, 85, of Maryville, Ill., born November 8, 1931, in East St. Louis, Ill., passed away on Monday, August 7, 2017.

Patricia loved spending time with her family. She was very hardworking and dedicated in everything she did. In her younger days she was a rate clerk for Union Electric. She then furthered her career by becoming a switchboard operator for Southwestern Bell and then Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Ill. Patricia retired from Barnes Jewish BJC as a patient concierge. She was very active, volunteering at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Ill., member of the St. Louis and Collinsville Camera Clubs and St. John United Church of Christ in Collinsville, Ill., where she helped with Evening Circle, No Longer Strangers and the Soup Kitchen.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dallen Wright; her parents, Thomas and Anna Jackson; son, Dallen Darrell Wright; daughter, Pamela Wright; brothers, Thomas Jackson and Terry Jackson.

Surviving family includes her daughter, Deborah Engel and her husband Bill of St. Louis, Mo.; three grandchildren, Brian Engel, Thomas Engel and Christopher Wright; and her six great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Friends may visit with the 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, August 13, 2017, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral services for Patricia will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 14, 2017, at Herr Funeral Home with Pastor Katie Jo Bielke from St. John's United Church of Christ officiating. Burial to follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
