Patsy Rose Hoshiko, nee Dege, 81, of Edwardsville, Ill., born May 15, 1930, in Quincy, Ill., died at 11:46 p.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2011, at her residence.
Mrs. Hoshiko was a member of the First Unitarian Church in Alton, Ill., Unitarian Universalist Association, AARP, American Humanist Association, Amnesty International, Nature Conservatory, Doctors Without Borders, Citizens for Global Solutions and Unitarian Universalist Service Committee.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Herman Ernst Dege and Anna Babette, nee Bangert, Dege.
Surviving are her husband, Michael Starson Hoshiko of Edwardsville, Ill.; children, Sumi Lynne Hoshiko of Maraga, Calif., Cecily "Mitsie" (Dave) Sample of Rochester, Minn., and Lance Tisdale Isamu (Rebecca) Hoshiko of Longmont, Colo.; sisters, Clara Lily White of Springfield, Ill., and Frieda (Floyd) Marshall of Quincy, Ill.; five grandchildren; and Eileen Hoshiko, Yuri Goto and Tom (Barbara) Hoshiko.

Funeral: Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, 2011, at Quincy Unitarian Church in Quincy, Ill., with the Rev. Bruce Marshall officiating. Per request cremation was done.
