Phyllis A. Staples

Phyllis Annette Staples 64 of Edwardsville, Ill. passed away on Saturday December 3, 2016 in Maryville, Ill. She was born in E. St. Louis, Ill. on November 4, 1952 the daughter of the late Eugene Cooper and Sarah Boyd. She was also preceded by her step-father James Winchester.

Phyllis was a retired cosmetologist who enjoyed shopping and being with her family. She attended the Church of God in Christ Congregation in Edwardsville, Ill. She enjoyed tending to plants and flowers.

Phyllis is survived by three children Colette Boyd of Troy, Ill., Jermaine Boyd of Edwardsville, Ill. and Jason (Kristi) Boyd of Edwardsville, Ill. Six grandchildren Caneee'' Boyd-Shorfer, Jevon Boyd, L''Oreal Boyd-Harper, Jay Boyd, Jordan Boyd and Paxton Boyd. Also one brother Kevin Jackson of St. Louis, Mo.

Visitation: Friends may call at the Sunset Hill Funeral Home 50 Fountain Dr. Glen Carbon, Ill. on Friday December 9, 2016 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Services: Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 AM on Saturday December 10, 2016 at the funeral home with Pastor Jack Townsend officiating. Interment to follow at the Sunset Hill Cemetery.
