Portia Ann Hogg, 76, passed away on September 19, 2023, in O'Fallon, Illinois. She was born on August 20, 1947, in Granite City, Illinois where she grew up and spent most of her life. She was one of five children to Leotis and Eleanora (Weeks) Stapleton.
Portia married Robert Hogg on October 26, 1968. They were married for 31 years, until Robert's passing in 1999. Over the years, she enjoyed attending church, having been a devout member of Bethel Baptist Church in Troy, Grace Baptist Church in Granite City, and lastly, at City Temple in Granite City. She was a caring homemaker, mother, grandmother and friend. She had great love for her family, she will be dearly missed.
Portia is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; son, George; brothers Ernie and Danny Stapleton, and her cherished dog Red Red.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Darrell Mitchem and Robin (Hogg) Burgett; son-in-law Seth Burgett; grandchildren Mackenzie, Benjamin, and Caleb Burgett: siblings, Candy Randolph and Claudia Stapleton.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Portia's name to the Alzheimer's Association

Services for Mrs. Portia Ann Hogg will be held at Sunset Hill Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 27, 2023. Visitation at 10:00 am, and Funeral service at noon. After service, Portia will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Bob.
