Praxida A. "Pat" Corvallis, nee Bolas, 86, of Collinsville, Ill., died at 10:15 a.m. Friday, June 24, 2011, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Ill. She was born on Nov. 30, 1924, in Lambert Pa.
She married Charles S. Corvallis on Sept. 27, 1947. Their marriage thrived for 54 years. Their union produced five children; three daughters, Linda Corvallis of Edwardsville, Ill, Rose Mary (Mohammad) Mokhtar of Cahokia, Ill., and Denise York of Troy, Ill.; and two sons, Dr. Joseph (Jayne) Corvallis and Michael (Janet) Corvallis, both of Collinsville, Ill. Others to survive her other than her children are one brother, Henry Michael (Joan) Bolas; one sister, Mary Ann Holyfield; three granddaughters, Marissa Corvallis, Desiree McMillen and Michelle Corvallis; two grandsons, Jordan Corvallis and Cameron Corvallis; and three step grandchildren, Jay Hoffmeister, Krista Nelson and Jeffrey Hofmeister.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Corvallis; her parents, Mike and Mary, nee Skuban, Bolas; a brother, Leonard Bolas; and a sister, Rose Mary Bolas.
Mrs. Corvallis was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Collinsville, Ill., Knights of Columbus Collinsville 1712 Ladies Auxiliary, Collinsville Home Extension, Collinsville Women's Club, Marathon Pinochle Club, TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) and a former member of Ss. Peter and Paul Altar and Rosary Society.
Memorials may be made in the form of Masses or to Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Building Fund or to the Shriners Hospital.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at Herr Funeral Home in Collinsville, Ill.
Funeral: Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Collinsville, Ill., with Father John Beveridge officiating. She was to be cremated.
