Obituary

Mr. Quintin E. Maynard, 46, of Glen Carbon, Ill., passed away with loved ones by his side, Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. His passing followed a valiantly fought battle with Leukemia over the past 11 months. Quintin''s determination and positive attitude are an inspiration to his family and friends.

Quintin was born August 10, 1967, the son of Robert and Rebecca (Keller) Maynard in Decatur, Ill. His parents survive and are very proud of the man Quint was. They were right by his side throughout his illness providing encouragement and care.

Quintin is also survived by his former wife Lisa Ford of Glen Carbon, Ill., who is the mother of his daughter, Mecca Maynard at home, his son Griffin Maynard at home, and his stepson Jordan Ford of Edwardsville, Ill.; his sister and brother-in-law, Tawni (Maynard) and John Ciko of Germantown Hills, Ill. and his nieces, Jacey and Meg Ciko.

Quintin graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1985 and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 1990 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. After college he made a career in Information Technology working for consulting firms and most recently working for Bunge as the lead for a global technology team. Quint''s work enabled him to travel the world and see many wonderful things.

Quint''s pride and joy were his kids, and he enjoyed supporting them in all their interests. He also liked woodworking, and anything related to technology. Quint was well liked and had many friends and extended family. He will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank all of the nurses and doctors at Barnes Jewish Hospital for their care of Quint.

In lieu of all other gifts, memorial donations may be made to the Maynard Education Trust Fund at the Bank of Edwardsville for Quintin''s children.
