Raymond H. Gerard

Raymond H. Gerard, 79, of Granite City, Ill., born April 14, 1938, in East St. Louis, IL., passed away Saturday, March 10, 2018, in Glen Carbon, IL.

Raymond retired from Boatman's Bank and was formerly a security officer at Nations Bank and Bank of America.  He was also a carman at Norfolk & Western Railroad.  He was a member of the Sterling Baptist Church of Caseyville, IL.  His interest included painting, carving, woodworking, playing the harmonica, banjo and guitar.

He was preceded in death by his dear wife Maxine Gerard, whom he married November of 1963, and passed away in March of 2008; his parents, Russell and Opal, nee Chastain, Gerard;  his sister Louise Ezell; his brothers Jessie Gerard, Lonnie Gerard and Ray Gerard; his son in law Rick Seibold.

He is survived by his daughters, Robbie (Will) Devenport of Columbia, IL., Tracy (Gary Kiselka) Seibold of Granite City, IL.; his son Kevin (Vernice) Freeman of Caldwell, ID.; his sisters Peggy and Bonnie; his five grandchildren, Justin (Juanita) Seibold, Tyler Seibold, Sarah Seibold, Coty Freeman and Zach Devenport and two great-grandchildren Lily and Hayden.

Visitation:  Friends can visit with the family 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2018, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, IL.

Funeral:  Funeral services will be10:00 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2018, at Sunset Hill Funeral Home, Glen Carbon, IL., with Pastor David Gray officiating.  Interment to immediately follow at the Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon, IL.
