Raymond Lee Thomas, 60, of Deltona, Fla., born Wednesday, July 6, 1955, died Monday, Feb. 29, 2016.

Raymond enlisted in the Navy, serving for 22 years and was in the Persian Gulf War. He later worked for the United States Post Office as a mail sorter. His passion was fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill R. and Doris A., nee Carter, Thomas; and a brother, Roy (Nancy) Rogers.

Surviving are his wife, Estrella, nee Rivera, Thomas; daughter, Christina (Chris) Hyatt of Caseyville, Ill.; three sons, Robert (Anna) Thomas of Yakota, Japan, Tim Thomas of Vacaville, Calif., and Charlie (Trudis) Rivera of Basakpardo, Philippines; a sister, Joyce (Rick) Ridgeway; and two brothers, Bob (Patty) Rogers and Bill Rogers. He is further survived by four grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association .

Visitation: Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Herr Funeral Home, 300 W. Lincoln, Caseyville, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2016, at the funeral home. Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 7, 2016, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
