Reta Renee Schiber, 64, of Collinsville, Ill., born Aug. 22, 1951, in Belleville, Ill., passed away Sunday, July 31, 2016, at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, Ill.

Renee retired as an English teacher from Unit 10, Collinsville, Ill. She enjoyed trivia events, and writing short stories.

She was preceded by her father, Reese Hoskin; and a son, James Edward "Eddie" Schiber.

Surviving are her husband, John Douglas Schiber of Collinsville, Ill., whom she married on Nov. 21, 1986; her son, John (Marie) Schiber of Collinsville, Ill.; a grandchild, Kara Renee Schiber of Collinsville, Ill.; her mother, Barbara, nee Boyd, Hoskin; her siblings, Christine (Henrik) Madsen of Hershey, Pa., Elaine (Jeffrey) Johnston of Spokane Wash., Toni (Eric Breeding) Hoskin of Austin, Texas, Victoria Bernard of Austin, Texas, Derek Hoskin of Westwood Village, Calif., and Jonathan Michael Hoskin of Gilbert, Ariz.

Memorials may be made to R. Schiber Scholarship Fund for English AP Students at Collinsville High School.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 4, 2016, at Sunset Hill Funeral Home, 50 Fountain Drive Glen Carbon, Ill., 62034.

Funeral: Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 5, 2016, at the funeral home, with Renee's son, John officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates, Glen Carbon, Ill.
