Richard "Dick" L. Bilderback, 79, born Tuesday, Jan. 8, 1935, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Sunday, October 5, 2014.

He enjoyed bowling, watching football, and listening to jazz and big band tunes. We was an avid reader. Dick retired as a salesman from the Collinsville Sports Store. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran, serving from 1955 to 1958.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Laverne and Thelma, nee Spaeth, Bilderback; and a sister, JoAnn Eckmann.

Surviving are his wife, Alice Bilderback, whom he married June 29, 1963; a son, Robert (Teresa) Bilderback of Glen Carbon, Ill., and a granddaughter, Lindsey Popovsky of Godfrey, Ill.; and three nephews, Michael (Jill) Eckmann, Brian (Terri) Erkmann and Troy (Shari) Eckmann.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 9, 2014, at the funeral home, with Rev. Jeffrey Young officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Collinsville, Ill.
