Richard (Dick) F. Collins, 80, of State Park Place, IL, departed from this life on Thursday, January 7, 2021.

Born June 20, 1940, in Man, West Virginia; Dick was a horse owner and trainer at Fairmount Park for 24 years and at other race tracks.

Dick, the son of the late Harry and Lydia (Simpkins) Collins, also proceeded in death by 3 sisters and 5 brothers; Katherine, Lena Jackie, Bertha Mae, Billy, Raymond, Douglas, Harry Jr., and LeeHulin.

Surviving is his wife of 34 years, Debbie (Davis) Collins, children Claude "Shorty" (Melissa) Smith II, April Davis and JoAnn(Octavio) Gomez; 8 grandchildren; Cody and Branden Smith, Lydia and Octavio (TJ) Gomez, Zayden Davis, Garrett and Natalie Smith and Jonathan Gomez; also his two dearest and closet friends to his heart Victoria Helms and Mary Sartin.

Visitation: Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville IL, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, and funeral service will follow the visitation at 1:00 pm, burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Collinsville, IL.
