Richard Rader
Richard Loy Rader, 64, of Collinsville, Ill., born December 31, 1952, in East St. Louis, Ill., passed away Friday, June 30, 2017, at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, Ill.
Richard retired from the City of Collinsville, Ill., where the first 10 years he worked for the street department and he became operator of the Waste Water Plant. After retirement, he became a courier for the Collinsville Animal Emergency Center. He also attended Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Collinsville, Ill. He was also a big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues. Along with his wife, he enjoyed trips to Cancun, Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Marguerite Frances, nee Stevens, Rader; and an infant brother, Eugene Craig Rader.
Richard is survived by his wife, Melissa, nee Holcomb, Rader; daughters, Christina (Richard) Cromer of Collinsville, Ill., and Cheryl (Michael) Wegrzyn of Edwardsville, Ill.; brothers, Robert (MaryAnn) Rader of Collinsville, Ill., and Steven (Diana) Rader of Palatine, Ill.; sister, Suzanne (John) Schmieding of Belleville, Ill.; and four grandchildren, Arthur, Nicholas, Ian and Brennan.
Memorials may be given to Partners for Pets or Collinsville Animal Emergency Center. Condolences may be expressed through this online guestbook.
Visitation: Friends and family may gather from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill.
Services: Memorial Service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill., with Rev. Kyle Wright officiating.
