Obituary

Richard "Dick" Schuetz, of Collinsville, Ill., most recently of New Port Richey, Fla., born May 15, 1942, in Chicago, Ill., passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011.

Mr. Schuetz graduated from Marquette University and then spent two years in the Peace Corps in India. He began a life long career with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission where he retired as Deputy Director of the St. Louis office in 2004. After moving to Florida he served as a volunteer district coordinator for the AARP tax-aide program assisting low income and senior citizens in filing taxes. He spent many hours enjoying his favorite hobby of fishing from Florida to Alaska.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Evelyn Schuetz; and a sister-in-law, Judith Schuetz.

Surviving are his sons, John West Schuetz and Craig Schuetz and their mother, Donna Schuetz; grandchildren, Jadey and Alec; his sister, Mary Jane (David) Coakley; and a brother, James (Rose) Schuetz. He is also survived by a very special friend, Phyllis Jones.

The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope.
