GLEN CARBON- Richard W. Trolliet, 88, of Glen Carbon, IL passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.

Richard was born on September 27, 1929 to Roger and Alice Wilson Trolliet. He married Helen Mashek on May 27, 1961. She preceded him in death on May 23, 2012.

He was also preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Richard will be dearly missed.

Richard proudly served his country as a staff sergeant in the Untied States Air Force from 1950-1954. He was stationed for 30 months in Hokkaido, Japan during the Korean War; following his time in Japan, he was stationed at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois.

He served as a consistory with the Masons, Rotarian with the Rotary Club in Casey, IL, past president with the Chamber of Commerce in Casey, IL, he was a member of the Shriners and an active member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Edwardsville.

Richard was a member of the Auxiliary at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL from 2012 until the time of his death. He was the 2016 president-elect, 2017 president and was reelected as president of the Auxiliary on January 2, 2018. One of Richard''s proudest moments came on January 8, 2018 when he presented Anderson Hospital with a check from the Auxiliary for $107,000.00. This money is raised through the hospital gift shop which is run by the Auxiliary and countless fundraisers that the Auxiliary has throughout the year.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Anderson Hospital Foundation in Richard''s name. Additional condolences may also be sent to the family through this online guestbook.

VISITATION: A visitation for Richard will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 4:00 P.M.- 8:00 P.M. at Sunset Hill Funeral Home, 50 Fountain Drive, Glen Carbon, IL 62034. Masonic services will be rendered at 7:00 P.M., visitation will resume after.

SERVICE: A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Sunset Hill Funeral Home in Glen Carbon, IL. Interment will be held at Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens in Glen Carbon, IL.
