Rita Busekrus, nee Brooks, 68, of Belleville, Ill., born Sept. 9, 1943, in Ellesmere Port, England, died at 7:18 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Ill.



Mrs. Busekrus served in the Royal Air Force in England. She worked in medical records at Scott Air Force Base Hospital. She was also a telephone operator at both Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Ill., and Scott AFB. Her true joy was painting such as water colors or pen and ink. She was a member of Winstanley Baptist Church.



Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Arthur and Elizabeth, nee Hughes, Brooks.



Surviving are her husband, Eugene Busekrus of Belleville, Ill., whom she married on Sept. 2, 1994; her daughters, Karen (Clyde) Wheat of Belleville, Ill., and Joanne Mackie of New York, N.Y.; sister-in-law, Tina Brooks of England; and former husband, David (Teresa) Severn of O'Fallon, Ill.
