Obituary

Robert (Bob) George Corbin, 69, of Glen Carbon, IL, passed away on October 13th, 2026.

Bob was born on September 12, 1957, in Belleville, IL, to George and Doris Corbin (née Glass), both of whom preceded him in death. A nearly lifelong resident of Glen Carbon, IL, Bob attended Edwardsville High School and graduated with the class of 1975. He was a member of the EHS baseball and wrestling teams, and he also enjoyed woodworking and shop classes - skills he carried with him throughout his career and hobbies.

As the owner and operator of Midwest Mowing for 40 years, Bob adored his customers, working with many of them for decades.

He enjoyed countless things in life, including live music, Blues hockey, playing guitar, riding his Harley, fishing, camping, ice cream, dogs, comedies, old westerns, Eric Clapton, cartoons, and collecting various items over the years. Above all, though, he loved his family and his lifelong friends. Those close to him will remember Bob as a man who loved deeply through his never-ending bear hugs, infectious laugh, quick wit, Dad jokes, and childlike spirit.

A member of Grace Baptist Church in Granite City, IL, Bob was well-loved by fellow members of the congregation. He will be remembered by close members as compassionate, inquisitive, and a faithful follower of Christ.

He is survived by his daughters, Melissa Corbin and Jenna Bochantin; his grandson, Oliver Bochantin; his siblings, Sherri Kloepper, Steve Corbin, and Patricia Treat, along with their families.

A memorial visitation will be held at 3:00 p.m. on October 29, 2026, at Sunset Hills Funeral Home, immediately followed by a memorial service at 4. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Bob’s memory to the GlenEd Food Pantry.

Bob will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

“The Lord loves a working man.” – Steve Martin
