Robert R. Long, 60, of Granite City, Illinois, passed away on August 13, 2021, at Gateway Regional Medical Center, Granite City, Illinois.

Rob was born July 9, 1961, to Ralph and Yvonne (West) Long, in Maryville, Illinois.

He worked his entire career as a baker for McArthur's Bakery in St. Louis, Missouri.  He started as a child working along side his father who also worked there.  Rob was a car enthusiast, whether it was going to car shows, working on model cars, or tinkering in the garage with them.

Rob was preceded in death by his father, and a brother, James Long.

Survivors include his mother, Yvonne Long of Pontoon Beach, Illinois; former wife and caregiver, Paula Long of Edwardsville, Illinois; sons: Rob Long of Litchfield, Illinois, and Dakota Strackeljahn of Troy, Illinois; brother, Terry (Tonya) Peters of Pontoon Beach, Illinois; sister, Penny Lee of Mt. Olive, Illinois; grandchildren: Kyle and Addilynn; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Cremation has been accorded by Sunset Hill Funeral Home of Glen Carbon, Illinois.

A private Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, August 20, 2021.
