Robert L. Lakin, Sr., 69, of Caseyville, Ill., born Saturday, Sep. 2, 1944, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Sunday, August 10, 2014, at Life Care Center, St. Louis, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sarah and Thomas Lakin; two brothers, Stanley and Henry Lakin, and a sister, Christine Lakin.

Surviving are two sons, Robert Lakin, Jr., of Belleville, Ill., and Russell (Teresa) Lakin of Collinsville, Ill.; a daughter, Rose Root of O'Fallon, Ill.; two brothers, Joe (Etta) Lakin of Freeburg, Ill., and Leroy Lakin of Belleville, Ill.; two sisters, Mary Ann Cashiano of Chicago, Ill., and Carol Lakin of Belleville, Ill.; four grandchildren, David, George, Ashley, and Brian; and a great-grandson, David.
