Woodside Sr.
March 27, 1930 – January 5, 2021
Robert (Bob) Charles Woodside, Sr., age 90, was born on March 27, 1930, in East. St. Louis, Illinois. He was called Home to be with the Lord on January 5, 2021. Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 ½ years, Doris Woodside, his cherished son, Robert (Robbie) Woodside, his loving parents, Tommy and Viola Woodside, and his brother, Bill Kinworthy. He is survived by his daughters, Deb Woodside and Kathy Jo (affectionately nicknamed Roadrunner) Oulson, who with great devotion and love, along with her husband Clay, cared for him on a daily basis for many years. Bob is also survived by his daughter in law, Mary Jo Woodside. He was blessed with four grandchildren, Amanda (Steven) Lykins, Luke Oulson, Zachary (Amber) Woodside, Eric Woodside, and six great-grandchildren, Makayla Lykins, Tanner Lykins, Elliott Woodside, Taylor Woodside, Deacon Woodside, and Dannen Woodside. Also, surviving are his loving sisters, Betty Hazelwood, Peggy Lewis, and Judi Hamilton, along with many nieces and nephews. Bob was a proud veteran who served in both the US Army and the US Airforce and earned the WW II victory medal. He was also a highly respected and loved businessman in Caseyville where he owned and operated Woodside's Amoco Station for many years. Bob believed in the importance of community service and spent his life supporting the Ainad Shriners, Scottish Rite Masonic Lodge, Caseyville Lions Club, Elks Lodge and Moose Lodge. He had many friends, both young and old, and enjoyed spending time with them at Karaoke.
Visitation will be held at Herr Funeral Home in Collinsville, Illinois on January 12, 2021, from 10:00-11:45, followed by a funeral service at noon. However, due to COVID-19 restrictions, both are limited to family only. Interment will be at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, Illinois.
Memorials can be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children-St. Louis.
