Roberta J. "Bobbie" Toennies, nee Sparkman, 85, of Caseyville, Ill., born Nov. 26, 1926, in Reno Ark., died at 3:05 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, in Glen Carbon, Ill.



Mrs. Toennies was a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Caseyville, Ill.



"Bobbie" was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander L. Toennies, whom she married on Sept. 16,1950; a son, Alex Toennies; and her parents, Harry and Minnie, nee Wilson, Sparkman.



Surviving are her children, Karin (John) Bell of Saint Charles, Mo., Susan (Tom) Tucker of Edwardsville, Ill., Mark (Toni) Toennies of Caseyville, Ill., and Carol (Roy) Candler of Caseyville, Ill.; a brother, Charles Sparkman; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral: Funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at the church with Father Ray Schultz officiating. Interment in St. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Collinsville, Ill.
