EDWARDSVILLE- Roman Joseph "Ray" Narconis Jr., 70, of Edwardsville passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.
Ray was born on April 25, 1946, in Scranton, PA. to Roman Joseph and Jean Elizabeth (Yusczyk) Narconis. He married Meg O''Neill on January 30, 1982 in Alton, IL.
Surviving are his wife, Meg; two children, Alex (Michelle) Narconis of Webster Groves, MO. and Dana (Christopher) Murray of Ballwin, MO; and one sister, Christine Woroniecki of Buffalo, NY.
Ray was the President and owner of Global Environmental Consultants, where he worked as an environmental microbiologist.
He served his country in the United States Army.
Ray earned a Bachelors Degree of Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo, as well as a Bachelors Degree of Microbiology from Western Illinois University.
He enjoyed spending time on the beach in Florida, golfing, and especially being with his family. Ray was a great husband, father, brother, uncle and friend to all who met him. He will be dearly missed. He also leaves behind his loyal dog and best friend, Samantha.

Visitation: A visitation for Ray will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2017 from 2:00 P.M.-4:00 P.M. at Sunset Hill Funeral Home, Glen Carbon, IL.
Service: A memorial service will be held following the visitation, at 4:00 P.M. on Sunday at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded.
