Rose J. Roseboom, nee Amato, 93, of Collinsville, Ill., passed away on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013. Rose was the daughter of the late Jack and Elizabeth, nee Fiacco, Amato. She was born in Abingdon, Ill., May 20, 1919, and was married May 20, 1939, to the late Albert Earl Roseboom Sr. Rose was a full-time housewife, concentrating on the welfare of her family. Her favorite activities revolved around her family. She made quilts for all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved to read.

In addition to her parents and husband, Rose was preceded in death by one brother, Benjamin Amato; and her four sisters, Reta Ogden, Catherine Ardissone, Mary Conterio, and Angeline Lesko, all of Collinsville, Ill.

She is survived by her four children: Alberta (Harry) Lang of Collinsville, Ill., Rosemary (Jack) Cook of Imperial, Mo., son, Albert E.(Patricia) Roseboom Jr., of Boca Raton, Fla., and Roberta Roseboom of Collinsville, Ill. Mrs. Roseboom leaves eight grandchildren, Katherine Bednara, Joseph (Kate) Lang, Dean (Becky) Cook, Jackie (Doug) Kelley, Autumn (James) Cammarata, Ryan (Benjaporn), Zachary (Mariam), and Joshua Roseboom. Surviving great-grandchildren are Michael, Jacob and Alissa Bednara; Nicholas and Samantha Kelley, and expected Ethan and Jack Cammarata and sister-in-law, Wilma Olson; in addition to a number of nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Collinsville Memorial Public Library or donor's choice. Memorials will be accepted at the funeral home.

Visitation: Friends may call from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Herr Funeral Home in Collinsville, Ill.

Funeral: Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Brian Pope officiating. Burial will be at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Collinsville, Ill., after the services.
