Russell Raymond Boehne, 81, of Collinsville, Ill., born Oct. 13, 1932, in Columbia, Ill., passed away at 9:56 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville, Ill., surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Boehne was an United States Navy veteran proudly serving his country in the Korean Conflict. After serving in the Navy, he was a retired union carpenter who truly enjoyed and was a master of his craft. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Collinsville, Ill. Russell was a loyal St. Louis Cardinals fan, loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oswald and Edna, nee Schneider, Boehne; two sisters, Laverne Kohlmeier and Carol Nobbe; brothers-in-law, Frank Hodgson, Fremond Kohlmeier and Melvin (Joanie) Zipfel; and a sister-in-law, Marie Zipfel.
Surviving are his wife, Marilyn, nee Zipfel, Boehne, whom he married on Nov. 25, 1965; daughters, Lynette (Herb) Phillips of Belleville, Ill., and Jeannine (Mike Kraft) Boehne of Belleville, Ill.; son, Doug Boehne of Collinsville, Ill.; grandchildren, Victoria Phillips, Jordan Phillips and Joshua Phillips; sisters, Ardelle Hodgson of Centerville, Ohio and Jenny (Raymond) Jung of Waterloo, Ill.; brothers-in-law, Marion "Bud" (Jackie) Zipfel of Belleville, Ill., Agnellus (June) Zipfel of Belleville, Ill., Marvin Zipfel of Cabot, Ark., and Carl Nobbe of Waterloo, Ill.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 18, 2014, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Collinsville, Ill., with Rev. Fred Kraemer officiating. Burial with full military honors will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
