Russell J.T. Staggs Jr, age 83, of Granite City, Illinois, passed away on October 24, 2025.

He was born in Collinwood, Tennessee to Russell and Hazel Staggs (nee Haddock).

JT served in the Army of the United States of America during the Vietnam War.

He was a member of the Masonic 877 lodge.

JT loved to bowl and was on a bowling league for many years.

He worked and retired from Laclede Steel. After he retired from Laclede Steel, he drove a school bus for many years for the Granite City Public Schools.

JT is survived by brother; Charles Staggs, sister; Patricia (James) Gibson, sister-in-law; Rosie Staggs and many numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Harry, Wayne and Johnny, sisters; Geneva, Wanda and Sharon.

Visitation will be held Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 9:30am to 10:30am at Sunset Hill Funeral Home.

A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 10:30am at Sunset Hill Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates.
