Ruth Marilyn VanDyke, nee Lowe, 82, of Collinsville, Ill., born July 5, 1930, in East St. Louis, Ill., died at 11:49 a.m. on Sunday, June 16, 2013, at Relais Bonne Eau in Edwardsville, Ill.

Mrs. VanDyke was a loving wife and mother, she enjoyed spending time with her whole family watching her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren with their activities. Ruth and Rodrick enjoyed traveling and watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball. She was a life long member of St. John United Church of Christ in Collinsville, Ill. She belonged to the BPW and the WIBC and she worked at Camelot Bowl in Collinsville, Ill., in many capacities

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mildred, nee Hilgemeyer; a grandson, Ryan Wise and a sister, Joyce Lochmann.

Ruth is survived by Rodrick her loving husband of 63 years, whom she married May 6, 1950; daughters Vickie (Brian) Dickerson of Collinsville, Ill., and Lori (Bill) Yanousek of Collinsville, Ill.; sons, Dean (Micki) VanDyke of Collinsville, Ill., Steve (Rae) VanDyke of Collinsville, Ill., Scott (Marty) VanDyke of St. Louis, Mo., and Paul (Paula) VanDyke of Tampa, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral: Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at the church with the Rev. Tony Minear, the Rev. Jim Donahue and Pastor Katie Jo Fuller officiating. Interment in St. John Cemetery in Collinsville, Ill.
