Ruth M. Bevirt, 89, of Collinsville, Il, passed away Friday, May 27th, 2016. She was born on a farm south of Collinsville on October 24th, 1926 in Collinsville, IL, to Theodore and Emma (nee Fedder) Sudbring.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Maurice Bevirt.
Ruth is survived by daughter, Karen Anders of Collinsville, IL, one son, Larry (Cathy) Bevirt of Collinsville, IL, and three grandchildren; Sherry Bevirt of St. Charles, MO, Paul Anders of Chicago, IL, and Timothy Anders of Nashville, TN.
Ruth graduated from Collinsville High School and went to work for Robertson''s Farm Supply in E. St. Louis, IL, where she met the love of her life, Maurice Bevirt. She worked there until her son, Larry was born and then her daughter, Karen was born. She later worked in Collinsville Unit 10 School District in the Cafeteria. She was a life-time member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Collinsville, IL, where she had a strong faith in God and an inspiring work ethic. She was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Women''s Missionary League, Farm Bureau, and also performed as an Election Judge in Madison County.
After Ruth retired, she and Maurice enjoyed traveling all over the country especially the trips with his World War II, "Battle of the Bulge" buddies. Ruth blessed many by gardening, baking, making quilts at church, and helping out on the farm.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, May 31st, 2016 at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, IL. Funeral will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 1st, 2016 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Collinsville, IL. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery in Collinsville, IL.
Memorials may be made to Lutheran Women''s Missionary League or to Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
