Ruth A. Weigler, 86, of Maryville, IL, formerly of Edwardsville, IL, passed away on Friday, August 17, 2018 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.

Ruth was born December 27, 1931 in Sorento, IL to Robert Carey and Amelia Minnie (Bourkel) Massey. She married Roy A. Weigler in 1956 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL; he preceded her in death in 1995.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; her son, Ricky E. Weigler; and siblings, Louise DeVore, Maggie Coleman, Lola York, Ellen Shoope, Theodore Massey, Robert Massey, Paul Massey, Bud Massey, infant brother, Johnny Massey and one stillborn brother.

She is survived by her sweetheart of 20 years, Ray McFalls of Cuba, MO; two daughters, Rhonda Weigler of Edwardsville, IL and Robin (Brennan) Murphy of Holiday Shores, IL; granddaughter, Sarah (Donald) McCallum of St. Jacob, IL; great-grandchildren, Loren, Bradley, Raine, Lily, Olivia, Jacob, Rory, and SarahRose; sister, Fern Hall of Edwardsville, IL; and a host of other friends and family.

Ruth cherished her time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved watching Wheel of Fortune, movies, playing BINGO, and listening to country western music. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

From 1968-1988, she worked as a server at Holiday Inn in Edwardsville, IL. She then worked from 1968-1988 at the Holiday Inn in Collinsville. She also worked at Tina's Spaghetti House from 1956-1968. She was a devoted employee who loved meeting new people throughout the years.

VISITATION: A visitation for Ruth will be held on Sunday, August 19, 2018 from 5:00 P.M.- 8:00 P.M. at Sunset Hill Funeral Home in Glen Carbon, IL.

FUNERAL: A funeral will be held on Monday, August 20, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens in Glen Carbon, IL.
