Samuel J. Dalton, 68, of Collinsville, Ill., born Wednesday, Jan. 2, 1946, in St. Louis, Mo., passed away at 5:15 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014.

Mr. Dalton was retired from the U.S. Air Force and served in Operation Iraqi Freedom. He also served in the U.S. Army prior to the U.S. Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Elizabeth, nee Schult, Dalton.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia, nee Bannister, Dalton, whom he married on Sept. 9, 1972; three sons, Christopher L. (Carisa) Dalton of St. Peters, Mo., Jeffrey M. (Virginia) Dalton of Collinsville, Ill., and Todd Dalton of Collinsville, Ill.; a daughter, Rebecca L. Dalton of New York, N.Y.; two grandchildren; and a sister, Susan Strus of Collinsville, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 24, 2014, at the Reese Chapel with Pastor Katie Jo Bielke officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, Ill.
