CASEYVILLE- Sharon Lee Richter, Leicht, nee Osborn, age 75, of Caseyville, born May 15, 1941 in St. Louis, MO, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2017, from complications of Interstitial Lung Disease.
Sharon was an amazing and brutally honest woman that didn''t take crap from anyone. This was in part to her 47 years of driving a school bus. She loved all of "her" kids she drove to school and took every opportunity to give them special treats.
She loved camping at Carlyle Lake, especially at Hickory Shores Resort with her late husband, Walt and close friends, Ray and Karen Albu, Jim and Michele Bell, Karla Sauls and Cindy and Steve Ballard.
Sharon absolutely loved to have fun and celebrate every holiday. Family and friends were sure to receive greeting cards filled with confetti and you could always count on her to cook up some of her chicken and dumplings or biscuits and gravy. Sharon was truly heartbroken when her little sister and best friend, Connie Sue passed away in April 2011. They celebrated everything together and talked to each other every day of their lives. One of the biggest joys in her life was her great niece Alexis. She and Alexis loved to go shopping, go to the movies, and go out to restaurants. Alexis spent her summers with Sharon and Walt camping and playing cards and board games.
Equally important in her life was her brother-in-law, Richard and nephew, Shawn. They were always eager to help her with anything and everything.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Connie Osborn, her husband, Walter Richter, and her little sister, Connie Sue Routt.
She is survived by her two sons and their wives, Bill and Mari Jo Clark and Bob and Laura Clark; two grandsons, Aaron Clark and Billy Clark; brother-in-law, Richard Routt; two nephews and their wives, Shawn and Misty Routt, Anthony and Christine Routt; great nephew Jordan Routt and missing her the most, her dear great niece, Alexis Routt.
Sharon had many friends, too many to list that will miss her greatly. Sharon''s family would like to thank the doctors at Barnes Jewish Hospital, the staff of Terrace on the Park Nursing Home, and Hospice of Southern Illinois for their care and compassion.
Per Sharon''s request, a casual Celebration of Life gathering will be held at the Moose Lodge #4 in Caseyville on Saturday, April 15, 2017, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Food will be provided. Please come by and share a story with her family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, the Moose Lodge #4, or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
