Shirley Jean Bean, nee Powell, 91, of Collinsville, IL peacefully passed away on
Sunday, July 21, 2024 at Hitz Memorial Home in Alhambra, IL.

Shirley was one of five children born to Bill and Flossie, nee Akes, Powell in Caseyville,
IL on January 27, 1933.

Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her
family, her church, Caseyville United Methodist, where she was a life-long member.
She was fond of the Olympics and Cardinal Baseball. She enjoyed crafting, reading,
dancing and spending time with her grandchildren and family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Bean, whom she married on
March 5, 1951, an infant daughter, Cheryl Bean, her parents Bill and Flossie, nee Akes,
Powell, brothers, William and Kenneth Powell and a sister, June Galloway.

She is survived by her children, William Michael (Lisa) Bean and Keith A. (Shelley)
Bean. Her grandchildren, Jacob (Brooke) Becker, Jessica Bean, Jordan (Amanda)
Bean and Collin Beyer. Great-grandchildren, Evelyn and Emerson Becker. A sister,
Joann Schmidt, brother and sisters in law, Ray and Bonnie Bean and Bob and Jackie
Bean; with extended family, Vernon and Cathy Becker and dear friend Goldie Allen.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that in honor of Shirley's granddaughter, Jessica,
memorial contributions be made to the Colleen Nesbit Memorial Foundation, P.O. Box
23523, Belleville, IL 62226.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 10am to 12pm Monday, July 29, 2024 at Herr
Funeral Home, Collinsville, IL.

Services: Services for Shirley will be at 12pm Monday, July 29, 2024 at Herr Funeral
Home, Collinsville, IL with burial following at Caseyville Cemetery, Caseyville, IL.
