Shirley D. Kent, 79, of Collinsville, Ill., born Nov. 13, 1936, in Granite City, Ill., died Thursday, May 19, 2016.

Shirley was retired from Residential Home Health and Masonic Home Healthcare.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Kent; her parents, Virgil A. and Lorhee, nee Melton, Carr; and two sisters, Frances Kretzer of Arnold, Mo., and Helen (Wilbur) Williams of Arnold, Mo.

Surviving are her children, Sherry (Carl) Odom of Collinsville, Ill., Nancy (Scott) Sipole of Collinsville, Ill., Roger Kent of Belleville, Ill., Michael Kent of Worden, Ill., and Kevin (Carolyn) Kent of Worden, Ill. She is further survived by a sister, Kathleen Andrews of Granite City, Ill.; a brother, Kenneth (June) Carr of Granite City, Ill.; eleven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to State Park Food Pantry or to Hospice of Southern Illinois.

Visitation: Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2016, at Sunset Hill Funeral Home in Glen Carbon, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2016 at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
