Shirley Covalesky, nee Clements, 82, of Maryville, Ill., born June 24, 1933, in Taylorville, Ill., passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Ill.
Shirley worked as head cook for Unit 10 schools and currently was assisting as a student monitor. She attended SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Collinsville, Ill., and Mother of Perpetual Help in Maryville, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Covalesky, whom she married March 1, 1953; parents, Clyde and Mable, nee Vancil, Clements; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Covalesky; and five sisters, Mildred Bradley, Delores Fischer, Linda Shipley, Helen Coffey and Maxine Brower.
Surviving are her sons, Craig Covalesky of Maryville, Ill., Chris Covalesky of Greenville, Ill., and Cary Covalesky of Canton, Ohio; and seven grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Collinsville Unit 10 School District.
Visitation: Friends & family may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday April 17, 2016 at the Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday April 18, 2016 at the funeral home with Father Stephen Pohlman officiating, Interment will follow at the SS Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Collinsville, Ill.
