Stella Fohne, nee Bronow, 85, of Collinsville, Ill., born April 12, 1927, in Fairmont City, Ill., died Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at St. Anthony's Medical Center, St. Louis, Mo.
Stella was a loving mother who enjoyed walking and playing bingo. She also enjoyed her pets and was an avid Cardinal, Rams, and Blues fan. She was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Collinsville, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Anna, nee Smalec, Bronow; three sisters, Mildred Diaz, Mary Ann Hopkins, and Beatrice Bronow; and a brother, Eddie Bronow.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Fohne of Collinsville, Ill.; her children, Anne (Gene) Keeley of Smithton, Ill., Gene Fohne of Collinsville, Ill., Mary R. Fohne of Collinsville, Ill., John Fohne of Collinsville, Ill., Wayne Fohne of San Diego, Calif., and Dave (Robin) Fohne of Collinsville, Ill.; a brother, Jesse Bronow of Collinsville, Ill.; her grandchildren, Bridget Keeley, Katie Keeley, Tiana Fohne, Jareb Fohne and Dachel Fohne; her step-grandchildren, Cortney Hurst and Ammie Pratt; her step-great-grandchild, Naomi Hurst; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made in the form of Masses to Ss. Peter & Paul Church.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2012, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill. A prayer service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2012, at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Collinsville, Ill., with Father John Beveridge officiating. Burial at Ss. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Collinsville, Ill.
