Stephen W. Barnish

Stephen W. Barnish, 77, of Collinsville, IL., born February 16, 1941, in East St. Louis, IL., passed away Thursday, September 6, 2018, in the comfort of his home surrounded by family.

Stephen was a caring husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family.  He retired after forty one years of dedicated service from Iron Workers Local 392. He gained much enjoyment volunteering at Cahokia Mounds Historic Site as a Docent and the Collinsville Historical Museum

He was preceded in death by his parents, Winston and June, nee Hill, Barnish: his son John M. Barnish.

Surviving are his loving wife of 58 years Shari, nee Falline, Barnish whom he married May 7, 1960; his daughter Liann (Richard) Gregory; his sons David (Sandra Tiffany) Barnish, Jeff (Linda) Barnish; his nine grandchildren, Sean Gregory, Kyle Gregory, Patrick Gregory, Mikayla Tiffany, Kyra Tiffany, Nathaniel Barnish, Winston Barnish, Tanner Barnish, Jack Barnish; his great-grandchildren, Nevaeh Gregory and Lucas Gregory.

Memorial contributions may be made to Cahokia Mounds or Collinsville Historical Museum and can be received at Herr Funeral Home.  Condolences to the family can be expressed through this online guestbook.

Visitation:  Friends may visit with the family at 10:00 A.M.- 11:30 A.M., Friday, September 14, 2018 at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, IL.

Funeral:  A memorial service for Stephen will be held immediately following the visitation, at 11:30 A.M., at the funeral home. Father John Beveridge will officiate.
