Theresa S. Gula, nee Kowalczyk, 88, of Granite City, Ill., born Feb. 19, 1926, in Madison, Ill., died Monday, Dec. 15, 2014, at Cedarhurst Assisted Living, Edwardsville, Ill.
Theresa was a sweet and loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved to spend time with her family. She loved to dance, was very active at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Granite City, Ill., and was a member of the Polish American War Veterans and Polish Hall in Madison, Ill.
She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Edward Gula; parents, Sam and Anna, nee Madji, Kowalczyk; a brother and two sisters.
Surviving are her husband, Edward Gula, whom she married April 4, 1959; a daughter, Rita (Jac) King of Glen Carbon, Ill.; two grandchildren, Bryan King of Edwardsville, Ill., and Emily (Bradley) Rickert of Summerville, S.C.; a sister, Ceil Kowalczyk of Madison, Ill.; and a brother, Edward Kowalczyk of Madison, Ill.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014, at Sunset Hill Funeral Home, Glen Carbon, Ill., and from 9:30 until time of service Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Granite City, Ill.
Funeral: A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church with Father Christopher Comerford officiating. Burial will be in St. Adalbert Cemetery, Fairview Heights, Ill.
