Thomas James Kowalski

Thomas James Kowalski, 75, of Glen Carbon, Ill., born November, 1, 1941, in East St. Louis, Ill., passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017, in Edwardsville, Ill.

Thomas was very active and extremely dedicated to the community as a fire fighter for the Fairview Heights Volunteer Fire Department from 1969 to 1986, the family then moved to Glen Carbon, Ill., where he was a fire fighter for the Glen Carbon Volunteer Fire Department from 1986 to the present day. He was a school principal and Director of Special Education to further show his dedication. Thomas was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Glen Carbon, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter J. and Rose, nee Brzostowski, Kowalski.

Surviving are his loving wife of 52 years, Jeanette, nee Dollins, Kowalski, of Glen Carbon, Ill., whom he married September 19, 1964; son Thomas B. (Kelly) Kowalski of Glen Carbon, Ill.

Memorial may be made to Second Chance Hartz, an animal rescue organization or to the Metro East Humane Society, both may be received at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed to the family through this online guestbook.
