Thomas Joseph Murphy, 95, of Caseyville, Ill., born Tuesday, June 8, 1920, died Monday, July 27, 2015, at Faith Care Center, Highland, Ill.

Thomas was a WW II Army veteran serving in South East Asia. He was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church. He was an avid reader and enjoyed working on cars.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine, nee Nikels, Murphy, whom he married April 27, 1944; a son, Thomas Joseph Murphy Jr.; and his parents, Thomas J. and Mary, nee Corcoran, Murphy.

Surviving are his children, Elizabeth (Mark) Baumgartner of Highland, Ill.; a son, Patrick John (Carmela) Murphy of Toronto, Canada; a daughter, Michelle (David) Seidel of St. Charles, Mo.; and 12 grandchildren.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2015, at St. Stephen Catholic Church, Caseyville, Ill. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
