Thomas Alva Rodriguez, 82, of Collinsville, Ill., born on Dec. 22, 1931, in New York, N.Y., died at 6:45 a.m. on Sunday, March 2, 2014, at Relais Bonne Eau in Edwardsville, Ill.

Mr. Rodriguez was a member of Paratroopers 11th Airborne.

Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, nee Hickey, Rodriguez; parents, Eusebio and Alice, nee Sanchez, Rodriguez; two brothers and a sister.

Surviving are his daughters Lisa (Tim Wilderman) Scaiefe of Belleville, Ill., Patricia (John) Gooch of Fort Smith, Ark., and Debra (Timothy) Fitzgerald of Highland, Ill.; three grandchildren, Beth, John and Sara; three great-grandchildren, Marissa, Liam and Karson; brother, Eusebio Rodriquez; and three sisters, Jacqueline Rodriguez of Puerto Rico, Loida Velez of Atlanta, Ga., and Victoriano Rodriguez of New York, N.Y.
