Thomas E. Thompson 'Tinker' - Of Granite City, IL, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, February 18, 2023.  Age 61.

Survived by his wife Catherine A. (nee Riess) Thompson; three brothers Vernon (Betty) Yount, Larry (Bonita) Yount and James (Kathy) Yount; three sisters Barabara Coveney, Kathie Connor and  Donna Coburn; and special brothers Michael (Donna) Chrisos, John Chrisos and a stepson Patrick Vandaveer.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Preceded in death by a daughter Jennifer M. Maedge; his parents Eugene and Thelma (nee Lucas) Thompson; two sisters Karen Yount and Shirley Barr.

'Tinker' was born January 5, 1962, in East St Louis, Illinois.  Formerly employed at PreCoat Metals.

He enjoyed tinkering on lawn equipment and cars.  When he was able, he enjoyed riding on his motorcycle and his daily meetings at Denny's with the 'coffee clutch' crew.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Stephanie and Sammy, for their loving care given to Thomas and the family during this time.

Per his wishes cremation rites will be accorded with an inurnment at St. John's Cemetery to be held at a later date.  Memorials to the American Cancer Society will be appreciated.
