Thomas "Tom" Gene Wente Sr., of Collinsville, Illinois passed away Saturday, June 22nd, at the age of 75. He was born to Harold and Alice (Koskie) Wente on June 5th, 1949, in East St. Louis, Illinois.

He married Nancy Jean Schaeffer, and they celebrated 40 years of marriage.

Tom was a Vietnam Veteran.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Alice Wente, sister Marcia Powell, brothers James Palovich, Robert Wente, and granddaughter Kayla Amos.

Tom is survived by his wife Nancy, children Thomas Gene Wente Jr., Anthony "Tony" Wente, Todd (Robyne) Wente, Wendy (William) Hollenkamp, Angela Diser, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and dear friends.

Tom will be greatly missed by his family, and many friends, but his memory will live on forever through all who had the honor of knowing and loving him.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 2nd at Herr Funeral Home, 501 West Main Street, Collinsville, Illinois, with visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with the funeral service starting at 12:00 p.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Road, St. Louis, Missouri.
