Douglas
October 7, 1939 – January 5, 2022
Velma Jean Douglas, 82, of Collinsville, Illinois, passed away on January 5, 2022, at St. Louis University Hospital.
Jean was born October 7, 1939, in Keyesport, Illinois, to Melvin and Opal Clements. She married Bobby J. Douglas Sr. in August 1956 and shared 60 years together before he passed away in 2016.
She was a member of Meadow Heights Baptist Church in Collinsville, Illinois. She and Bobby Joe traveled all over the United States extensively and especially loved Alaska and Amish country. She enjoyed her card groups and playing board games with family and friends. Jean loved her church and her church family, but her biggest love was her husband, children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her sons: Bobby Joe Douglas Jr. and wife Nancy (Lanahan) of Troy, Illinois, and Dwain E. Douglas and wife Rocky (Gordon) of Granite City, Illinois; brother, Robert Clements and Linda of Gray Summit, Missouri; grandchildren: Natasha, Kimberly, Joshua, Laura, and Daniel; great grandchildren: Kathleen and Braelyn; and her special niece and best friend, Judy Edwards.
