MARINE- Vernon D. Vaughn, 91, of Marine, IL passed away on Monday, December 18, 2017 at 9:25 P.M. in Marine, IL.

Vernon was born on January 5, 1926 in Olive Branch, IL to David L. and Grace I. (Lipe) Vaughn. He married Bernice F. Richardson on September 12, 1952. She preceded him in death on October 11, 2006.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, and one son, Ronald Vaughn; and siblings, William (Betty) Vaughn, Harry Vaughn, Mercedes (Harold) Schneider; brother-in-law, Bob Harris; and niece, Becky Vassloff

Vernon is survived by his son, Arthur (Maurla) Vaughn of Marine, IL; grandsons, Chad Vaughn and Ryan Vaughn; great-daughter, Ellie Marie; sister, Hazel R. Harris; sister-in-law, Barbara Vaughn; niece and nephews: Laura Walker, Bill Harris, Sandy Moxey, Judy Stroud, Jim Schneider, and David Vaughn.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He retired after 41 years of works as an accountant with AVSCOM. He was also a member of the VFW.

Memorial contributions may be made to the 1st Baptist Church in Maryville, where Vernon was a longtime member. Additional condolences may also be sent to the family through this online guestbook.
VISITAITON: A visitation for Vernon will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2017 from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Sunset Hill Funeral Home in Glen Carbon, IL.

FUNERAL: A funeral service will follow at 11:00 A.M. the funeral home in Glen Carbon, IL. Interment will be held at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon, IL.
