Vincent Farenzena, 86, of Collinsville, Ill., born April 7, 1928, in Collinsville, Ill., passed away at 7:53 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Ill.

Vince loved anything Italian. He was a United States Army veteran receiving a Purple Heart serving his country in the Korean War. He was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and the VFW Post 5691 in Collinsville. Vince was a great gardener and enjoyed shopping, especially at Dillards.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary, nee Farenzena, Farenzena; and a sister, Bertha Thomas.

Surviving are his brother, Virgil (Joan) Farenzena of Collinsville, Ill.; nieces, Angela (Todd) Evers of Collinsville, Ill., Judy (Parviz "Pete") Ghaffari of Henderson, Nev., and Barbara (William) Harris of Henderson, Nev.; a great-nephew, Drake Evers of Collinsville, Ill.; and a great-niece, Alexis Evers of Collinsville, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 21, 2014, at the funeral home with Father Steve Arisman officiating. Burial will be at St. John Cemetery in Collinsville, Ill.
