Vincenzo William DeLeonardis, age 76, of Glen Carbon, died Sunday, at 10:56 p.m. Aug. 30, 2015, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville. He was born Feb. 27, 1939, in Chicago, the son of the late Mike and Dolly Baraglia DeLeonardis.
He married Judy Kiley on Sept. 1, 1961. She survives. Also surviving are one son: Mike (Sharon) DeLeonardis of Flower Mound, Texas; one daughter: Nikki (Avak) Karibian of Glen Carbon; six grandchildren: Christopher Karibian, Natalie Karibian and Michael Karibian all of Glen Carbon and John DeLeonardis, Kathryn DeLeonardis, and Laura DeLeonardis all of Flower Mound, Texas.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister: Anita Catrambone.
He was a member of Eden United Church of Christ, Faith in Action and Sigma Tau Gamma. He was the Director of Family Services in Hurst-Bush, Ill., then was director of the Children's Home in Maryville. Then he was a social worker in the Granite City School District for 25 years. He went into coaching and was the commissioner of the Little League of Edwardsville, where he was also a coach.
Memorials are suggested to juvenile diabetes or the charity of the donor's choice .
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, at Eden United Church of Christ in Edwardsville.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 4, at Eden United Church of Christ with Rev. John Roberts officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.
